| Reverse description | The Monegasque coat of arms, consisting of the distinctive lozengy shield of argent and gules (alternating white and red diamond shapes) surmounted by a princely coronet with elaborate gilt detailing, occupies the central field. To the left of the shield the denomination 1/2 FR is inscribed in two lines, with the word ESSAI (trial) appearing below in the lower left field. The motto DEO JUVANTE arcs across the upper legend, separated by a small cross patee at its apex. The overall design is crisp and deeply struck, consistent with the high standards of an official essai piece. |
