Reverse description A large, boldly rendered fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, executed in the Gothic florin tradition with elaborate foliate scrollwork and cross-hatched detailing on the central petal. The design follows the Florentine florin prototype adapted for Aragonese coinage. A partial Latin legend encircles the device, reading ARAGO REX AL, identifying Alfonso V as King of Aragon. The irregular flan edge is characteristic of the hammered technique used in 15th-century Majorcan gold coinage.
