Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a crowned double-headed eagle displayed, bearing an escutcheon on its breast. The motif is rendered in the bold, low-relief style characteristic of early fourteenth-century Italian hammered silver coinage. A Latin legend runs continuously around the outer margin, separated by small cross stops.
