Obverse description Plain, nearly featureless field bearing the Arabic date inscription 1278 in the center, rendered in a crude hammered style typical of Moroccan falus coinage of the mid-nineteenth century. The flan is irregular and roughly struck, with uneven surfaces characteristic of cast or hammered bronze production. No border ornament or additional legend is present.
