Reverse description Six-petalled rosette centered on a pointed heart or pellet motif, the petals arranged symmetrically around the central element and filling the coin's field. The design is rendered in low, somewhat crude relief consistent with the cast production technique characteristic of Alaouite dynasty small bronze coinage. The flan is irregular and shows typical casting roughness. No inscription or mint name appears on this type.

Additional information

Moulay Sulayman's reign was defined by deliberate isolationism — he closed Moroccan ports to most foreign trade, suppressed the Atlantic commercial routes his predecessors had cultivated, and withdrew from entanglement with Napoleonic Europe at a moment when every other North African power was being drawn in. The anonymous falus coinage fits that posture exactly: small, internally circulating, unattributed to any mint, intended for a domestic economy that was meant to function without reference to the outside world.

The omission of the mint name on KM#90.1 is not damage or wear — it is a deliberate characteristic of the type, distinguishing it from the attributed emissions of Fes and other centers.
