Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in the neoclassical style common to Spanish colonial milled coinage. The portrait features a ribbon tied at the nape of the neck, with the king's hair arranged in tight curls. The circular legend FERDIN. VII. D. G. HISP. R. runs along the periphery, interrupted at the base by the date 1814 positioned in the lower field. The coin exhibits a fine reeded border framing the entire design.

Reverse description The quartered royal arms of Castile and León — comprising castles and lions in alternate quarters with the Granada pomegranate in the base escutcheon — surmounted by a royal crown, all enclosed within a decorative chain representing the Order of the Golden Fleece. The Lima mint mark 'L' appears to the left of the shield and the assayer initials 'JP' appear to the right, both in the field. No peripheral legend is present; the design fills the flan to the reeded rim.
