Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, his hair tied with a ribbon bow at the nape. The circular legend surrounding the effigy reads FERDIN · VII · D · G · HISP · R · with the date 1817 positioned along the lower periphery. The portrait is rendered in a neoclassical style characteristic of the early 19th-century Spanish royal coinage, with fine detail in the laurel wreath and facial features. A plain inner field frames the bust without exergue line.
