Reverse description Crowned quartered royal arms of Spain at centre, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León in alternating quarters, with a small escutcheon of the Bourbon fleur-de-lis at the fess point, surmounted by a large royal crown. The circular legend HISPANIARUM · REX runs around the upper periphery in Latin. The assayer initials J · M · B appear in the lower field beneath the shield, denoting the Madrid mint assayers. The entire design is enclosed within a finely reeded border consistent with milled production at the Real Casa de la Moneda.
