Reverse description The reverse displays a crowned escutcheon of France semé with three fleurs-de-lis arranged in the French royal arms, surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with fleurs-de-lis and arches. The shield occupies the central field and is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the crown's foliate decoration. The circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, incorporating the date 1672 and the mint letter A (Paris) in the lower portion of the legend. A toothed border frames the entire design.
