Reverse description Crowned and helmeted coat of arms of the Duchy of Lorraine, draped and ornately mantled, flanked on either side by an eagle displayed. The crown divides the date at the top of the shield. The full heraldic achievement is rendered in the elaborate late Renaissance style typical of Lorraine ducal coinage, with the helmet issuing from the top of the shield and the mantling flowing to either side. The circumferential Latin mint legend appears around the periphery within a beaded border.
