Reverse description Central device composed of a cross formed by eight interlaced Ls (royal monograms), with four fleurs-de-lis positioned in the angles between the arms of the cross. At the center, an oval shield bearing the arms of France (three fleurs-de-lis) is surmounted by a royal crown. Four additional crowned Ls appear at the cardinal points of the cross, creating the distinctive eight-L composition that gives this type its name. The surrounding Latin legend SIT.NOMEN.DOMINI.BENEDICTVM. ('Blessed be the name of the Lord') runs around the periphery, with the date 1704 incorporated into the legend, all enclosed within a toothed border.
