| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne facing right, wearing a ruff collar and elaborately engraved cuirass, the hair shown in short curls. The portrait is rendered in the late Renaissance style typical of early 17th-century French feudal coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the effigy, with the Latin legend running continuously around the periphery between two beaded borders. The denomination expressed as XXII sols and a half-sol indicator (z) appears at the base of the legend. |

| Reverse description | Ornate quartered coat of arms of the Principality of Sedan displayed in the center of the field, surmounted by a large open princely crown with elaborate foliate and scroll-work mantling. The shield incorporates the heraldic bearings of the House of La Tour d'Auvergne, including fleurs-de-lis, roundels, and diagonal banding. Two supporters flank the escutcheon on either side. The date 1614 appears in the upper field flanking the crown, and the Latin legend surrounds the whole device between beaded borders. |
