Reverse description Quartered heraldic shield bearing the royal arms of France (fleurs-de-lis) and the lion of Brabant in alternate quarters, surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The shield is flanked on either side by the letter F (for Franciscus), serving as a dual monogram in the field. The date 1582 appears prominently in the upper portion of the legend surrounding the arms. The composition is bold and well-centred, characteristic of the Brabant revolt coinage struck at Antwerp.
