| Obverse description | Youthful draped bust of King Charles XII facing right, with flowing long curly hair. The king is depicted in armored dress, visible at the base of the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads CAROLVS·XII D·G·REX·SVEC· around the periphery, identifying him as King of the Swedes by the Grace of God. The portrait is rendered in a refined baroque style characteristic of late 17th- and early 18th-century Swedish coinage. The field is smooth and the reeded edge is clearly visible. |
