Obverse description Central field occupied by the crowned heraldic shield of West Friesland, featuring two rampant lions passant arranged in pale upon a divided escutcheon. The shield is surmounted by a mural crown adorned with five stars, rendered in low relief against an unadorned field. The design is characteristic of the provincial Dutch coinage style of the mid-eighteenth century, with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description The large interlaced VOC monogram of the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie (Dutch East India Company) dominates the central field, with the letters V, O, and C conjoined in a bold cipher. Above the monogram, a small ship mintmark flanked by two pellets serves as the mint identifier. The date 1770 is inscribed in large numerals along the lower portion of the field, with no additional legend.
