Obverse description Within the central field, a stylized linden tree is depicted growing from the base and enclosed within an ornate baroque cartouche composed of symmetrical foliate scrollwork. Flanking the cartouche on the left and right are sprays of laurel and palm branches respectively, rendered in fine relief. The circumscription SERVATA LIBERTATE VIRESCIT runs along the outer border in Roman capitals, reading from lower left around the top to lower right. The coin exhibits a reeded border and the overall design reflects the high baroque engraving style characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century German civic commemorative issues.
