Obverse description The ecclesiastical arms of Archbishop Franz Anton von Harrach displayed on an ornate coat of arms surmounted by a galero with six rows of tassels on each side and a processional cross behind. The shield bears the combined arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg and the Harrach family. At the base of the shield, an oval cartouche inscribed '1/2' denotes the denomination. The encircling legend reads FRANC. ANTO. D: G. ARCHI. PR. SA. S. A. L., separated by pellets, all within a beaded border.

Reverse description Full-length facing figure of Saint Rupert of Salzburg, patron saint of the archbishopric, vested in full pontifical robes including a mitre and richly decorated cope. In his right hand he holds a crozier and in his left a barrel of salt, his traditional attribute. The date 1709 appears in the upper field flanking the saint's mitre. The surrounding legend S. RVDBERTVS. EPS. SALISBVRG. 1709 runs along the beaded border, identifying the saint as Bishop of Salzburg.
