Additional information

Valencia operated its own mint under the Crown of Aragon with considerable autonomy, and the half-ducat series struck in the names of Fernando II and Isabel I reflects the early years of their joint rule — a constitutional arrangement that kept Aragonese and Castilian institutions formally separate even as political power consolidated around the monarchs personally. The Valencia mint was among the first to adapt the ducat standard for Iberian circulation following the Catholic Monarchs' monetary reforms of the 1480s.

Cayon 176 pieces are genuinely scarce in any condition; this is not a well-documented issue by survival rate.
