Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Charles Frederick of Württemberg facing right, with long flowing curled wig rendered in fine detail. The duke is depicted in armor with a lace cravat visible at the truncation. A beaded inner border frames the effigy, with the Latin legend disposed around the periphery reading CAROL.FRID.D.G.DVX.WURT.T.&O.A.&T., identifying the ruler by name and titles. The portrait is executed in a robust Baroque style characteristic of German ducal coinage of the first half of the eighteenth century.
