Obverse description The obverse displays the arms of the Free Imperial City of Nuremberg: two ornate baroque shields set side by side beneath the Imperial eagle displayed, the whole framing a central crowned double-headed eagle. The composition is richly decorated with elaborate scrollwork and foliate mantling in the Baroque style. Below the armorial group, the mint initial 'N' appears in the lower field. The design is contained within a finely milled border.
