Reverse description A decorative Baroque cartouche with elaborate foliate scrollwork at the top and sides frames the entire reverse design. Within the cartouche, a five-line Latin religious inscription reads 'BENEDICTUS SIT · IEHOVA DEUS', followed by the denomination '1/2 DUCAT' and the date '1719' in the lower portion. A small floral ornament appears at the apex of the cartouche. The lettering is bold and well-struck, consistent with the high-quality milled coinage produced at Bern in the early 18th century.
