Obverse description Facing bust of Umar ibn al-`Ala, head right, wearing winged crown surmounted by star and crescent. Patronymic (in Pahlavi to right of the bust, and in Arabic in margin) and with extra outer circle. Crescents with stars at 3, 6 and 9 o`clock.
