| Reverse description | Central device features a heraldic shield divided into quarters, with a pine tree displayed in the upper dexter quarter, the design being emblematic of York County, Maine. The dates 1636 and 1936 flank the shield on either side, commemorating the three-hundredth anniversary of the county's founding. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST appears in two lines across the lower portion of the shield. The legend YORK COUNTY arcs along the upper periphery, while FIRST COUNTY IN MAINE arcs along the lower periphery, all separated by small star or dot ornaments. |
