Obverse description Young, diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, set within a beaded inner border. The legend VICTORIA is inscribed above in the upper field and QUEEN below, divided by the portrait, both in raised Latin lettering. The effigy is rendered in the refined classical style characteristic of Leonard Charles Wyon's engraving work for British colonial coinage of the 1860s.

Obverse lettering VICTORIA QUEEN
Reverse description An ornamental heraldic composition featuring three large shields arranged symmetrically within the field, each bearing distinct armorial devices, separated and framed by elaborate foliate and scrollwork ornamentation. The central shield displays the three-lion passant design associated with the English royal arms, while the flanking shields bear additional heraldic charges. The overall design is richly decorative in character, consistent with a trial or pattern strike intended to showcase engraving quality rather than a finalised circulating design.
