| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Benjamin Franklin occupies the central field, rendered with fine detail in the hair and collar. The legend LIBERTY curves along the upper periphery, while the motto IN GOD WE TRUST arcs along the lower rim. The date 1948 appears in the right field to the lower right of the effigy. The overall style faithfully replicates the classic John R. Sinnock design used on the original Franklin Half Dollar series. |
