| Reverse description | Central gold-plated depiction of a colossal seated statue of Pharaoh Ramses II wearing the nemes headdress and a ceremonial beard, with hieroglyphic cartouche inscriptions carved on the throne; flanking the figure are symmetrically arranged relief motifs of lotus flowers and winged scarab beetles in the dark-finished field. To the left of the central figure appears a gold-plated scarab beetle, and to the right a vertical royal cartouche in hieroglyphics, both rendered in selective gold plating against the blackened background. The legend 'RAMSES II' is inscribed in raised Latin letters across the upper field, and the entire design is framed by an ornate border of beads and a toothed outer rim. |
