Additional information

Issued in the months following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, this piece is part of the wave of commemorative strikes that Pacific island nations — many operating as Commonwealth realms — released to mark both her passing and the 70th anniversary of her 1953 coronation. The Solomon Islands has issued coins under royal warrant since independence in 1978, though the vast majority of its modern commemorative output is produced by private minting houses in Europe and sold directly to collectors, never entering circulation.
