| Reverse description | The reverse depicts the ancient Egyptian funerary deity Anubis rendered in gold plating against a dark ruthenium field, shown in traditional Egyptian profile as a standing jackal-headed humanoid figure facing left, wearing a broad collar and kilt. In his lowered right hand he holds an ankh symbol, while his left hand grasps a was-sceptre. To the lower left of the central figure is a gold-plated scarab beetle, and to the right stands an Egyptian cartouche bearing hieroglyphic symbols. Decorative Egyptian fan-palm frond motifs appear in the background field, and a beaded inner border with a serrated outer rim frames the design. The legend ANUBIS arcs across the upper field in gold-plated raised lettering. |
