| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in high relief with gold plating against a darkened field. The portrait is after the fourth definitive effigy by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, SOLOMON ISLANDS along the upper rim, and HALF DOLLAR along the right rim, with the date 2022 at the base, all separated by raised dot stops. |

| Reverse description | Central depiction of the Great Temple of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel, rendered in gold plating with fine relief detail showing the four colossal seated statues of the pharaoh flanking the temple entrance. Above the temple facade, a gold scarab beetle is prominently displayed at centre, flanked symmetrically by six ankh symbols in the darkened field. In the lower portion of the field, a decorative cartouche rendered in gold contains a sequence of Egyptian hieroglyphs. The legend ABU SIMBEL arcs along the upper rim in gold lettering, and the entire design is framed by a decorative beaded and stepped border. |
