| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Sierra Leone countermark of crowned royal cypher 'WR' applied to the host coin's reverse, which itself bears the crowned arms of Spain. The host coin is a Spanish colonial 4 Reales piece of Carlos IV, with the quartered royal shield of Castile and León prominently featured in the central field, surmounted by a royal crown. Flanking the shield are the mint mark 'S' and assayer initials 'CN', with the denomination '4' visible to the right. The surrounding legend reads 'HISPANIARUM · REX ·', identifying the issuing monarch as King of Spain. |
