| Reverse description | The reverse displays a prominent Arabic legend in Maghrebi calligraphic script in the upper portion of the field, with the Hijri date 1311 rendered in Western (European) numerals in the lower half, a distinctive feature of this pattern issue produced for Moulay al-Hasan I at the Fes Mint. A dentilated inner border frames the design within a plain raised rim. The combination of Arabic script and European-style numerals reflects the transitional numismatic style of late 19th-century Moroccan coinage. |
