| Obverse description | Plain silver field bearing a three-line Arabic inscription in bold naskh script occupying the central area of the flan. The legend reads 'al-Malik / al-Nasir / Yusuf', identifying the Ayyubid ruler al-Nasir Yusuf II. The lettering is rendered in high relief with strongly modelled strokes characteristic of mid-13th century Ayyubid hammered coinage. The flan is irregular in outline, with a slightly granular surface consistent with hand-struck production. |
