Obverse description Central field occupied by multiple horizontal lines of Arabic inscription in Naskh script, arranged in a stepped or tiered format characteristic of Sarbedaran coinage. A prominent cartouche or panel in the upper portion contains additional calligraphic text. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hammered medieval Islamic gold coinage. The legends are boldly struck with deeply incused letters against an unadorned field.
