Reverse description The copper-nickel centre of the reverse features the Arabic fractional numeral ١/٢ (one-half) prominently displayed within a circular frame, itself surrounded by an elaborate arabesque foliate ornamental pattern rendered in fine relief, characteristic of traditional Islamic decorative art. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries a bilingual legend: the English inscription THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN arcs along the upper periphery, while HALF DINAR appears at the lower left and the Arabic equivalent نصف دينار at the lower right. The dual date ١٤١٧ هـ - ١٩٩٧ م, presenting both the Hijri and Gregorian years, is inscribed at the base of the ring, flanking the lower field.
