Obverse description Central motif depicts a mausoleum from the ancient site of Gerisa (Ghirza), rendered in architectural detail within the golden centre. Flanking the structure is an arched security feature incorporating a tilting optically variable device, alternating between the nominal value and a crescent oriented to the north-east accompanied by a star. The legend 'Central Bank of Libya' appears in Latin script above, with the denomination '1/2' and a crescent-and-star symbol inscribed in the field.
