| Obverse description | Brown intaglio print on a lightly tinted ground, with the denomination نصف دينار in large Arabic script at centre, flanked by two circular vignettes: a sunburst guilloche medallion to the left and the Republic arms — a radiate star enclosing an eagle with wheat stalks — in a guilloche roundel to the right.
