| Obverse description | Rectangular copper plate planchet of irregular outline, struck with five individual dies in the manner characteristic of Swedish plate money (plåtmynt). A triangular centre stamp, bordered by a beaded frame, occupies the central field and bears a crowned shield displaying a rampant lion, flanked at the lower angles by the denomination initials 'D' and 'S' and surmounted by the fraction '1/2', together denoting one-half Daler Silvermynt. Four circular corner stamps are applied one at each corner of the plate: the upper two bear a crowned royal cypher or armorial device accompanied by the date 1719, while the lower two display three Swedish crowns above the date 1719, all within beaded circular borders. The overall design follows the standardised plate-money format established by the Swedish Crown, with the denomination and royal authority expressed through the combination of the central triangular cartouche and the four authenticating corner punches. |
