| Obverse description | Armored, bare-headed bust of Prince Karl facing right, right arm raised and holding a scepter behind the shoulder. Beneath and flanking the bust is a crowned shield bearing the Greater Arms of Sweden: three crowns of Sweden in the first and fourth quarters, the Folkung Lion in the second and third quarters, and a small central escutcheon with the Vasa arms. The bust and shield are partially enclosed within an inner circle, outside of which runs the principal legend along the rim; the prince's personal motto appears around the inner circle on the inside edge. |
