Obverse description Full-length figure of Christ standing facing, nimbed and radiating glory, robed in long draped garments, with right hand raised in benediction and left hand holding a cross-staff or orb, set within an inner wreath border. The figure is rendered in the late-medieval hammered style characteristic of early Swedish Renaissance coinage. The circular Latin legend surrounding the inner wreath reads EGO : SVM : VIA : VERITAS : ET : VITA (I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life), punctuated by rosette stops. The field around the central figure is plain, and the overall die work reflects the robust but somewhat crude craftsmanship typical of the Svartsjö mint under Gustav Vasa.
