| Reverse description | Central field bears a large Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, with both heads turned outward and surmounted by a single crown, rendered in high relief with finely detailed feathering and scaled breast. The eagle's talons grip orbs or foliage at the base of the design. A beaded inner border frames the device, with the Latin imperial legend encircling the entire field, invoking the authority of Emperor Charles V. The die work is consistent with the hammered coinage style of the mid-sixteenth-century Holy Roman Empire. |
