| Reverse description | Quartered heraldic shield displaying the combined coats of arms of Bergh, Egmond, Meurs-Saarweerden, and Culemborg, surmounted by two crested helmets with elaborate lambrequins. The armorial composition is rendered in the elaborate late Renaissance heraldic style typical of Netherlandish lordship coinage of the sixteenth century. The surrounding Latin legend, separated by ornamental stops, identifies the coin as a new silver monetary issue struck at Dieren. The overall design reflects the prestige and dynastic claims of the counts of Bergh. |
