| Obverse description | Armored bust of William IV, Count of Bergh, facing left, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with ruff collar visible at the neck, the portrait rendered in a late Renaissance style with curly hair and a short beard. The date 1577 is divided on either side of the bust in the field. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin legend arranged continuously around the outer border. A fleur-de-lis mint mark appears at the top of the legend, serving as the chalice mint mark of Dieren. |
