Reverse description The reverse displays a crowned quartered shield of arms — comprising the arms of England, Scotland, and Ireland — ensigned with the royal crown and surrounded by the jewelled collar of the Order of the Garter, bearing the motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE around its circumference. The divided date appears below the shield, with the legend BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID DEF distributed around the periphery. The design is executed in high relief after the engraving of Leonard Charles Wyon.
