| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, engraved by Percy Metcalfe, occupies the central field. The king is depicted bare-necked with a Tudor crown surmounting his head. The surrounding legend reads GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR, distributed along the upper and lower periphery within a fine beaded border. |
