Reverse description Crowned and quartered royal shield of arms, bearing the arms of England, Scotland, and Ireland, enclosed within the Garter band inscribed with the motto of the Order of the Garter. The shield is surmounted by the Royal Crown, with the denomination HALF CROWN divided by the shield and the date split into two numerals on either side below. The full circumferential legend incorporating the Garter motto and royal titles runs around the periphery within a toothed border.
