Obverse description Left-facing effigy of King George V wearing an Imperial State Crown and robed in military uniform with decorative collar and epaulettes, engraved by Percy Metcalfe. The king's bearded portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the facial features and regalia. The circumferential legend reads GEORGE V KING EMPEROR, divided by the bust truncation at the base of the design. The field surrounding the effigy is smooth, and the rim is defined by a fine dentilated border.
