Obverse description Crowned effigy of King George V facing left, depicted in military dress with epaulettes and a bow tie, engraved by Percy Metcalfe. The king wears an Imperial State Crown with detailed floral and cross ornamentation. The legend GEORGE V KING EMPEROR arcs around the periphery in raised Latin lettering, with GEORGE V KING to the left and EMPEROR to the right. A fine beaded border frames the design. The portrait is rendered in high relief with considerable detail in the facial features, beard, and uniform.
