Reverse description Crowned and Garter-encircled quartered shield of arms bearing the arms of England, Scotland, and Ireland, with the Hanoverian escutcheon in pretence, set within a decorative surround of national floral emblems — the English rose, Scottish thistle, and Irish shamrock. The Garter motto encircles the shield, and the date appears in the exergue below. The design is attributed to Jean Baptiste Merlen and is enclosed by a fine toothed milled border.
