Reverse description The central motif depicts one of the four miniature canopic coffinettes from the tomb of Tutankhamun, rendered in finely detailed relief and oriented vertically within the triangular field. The coffinette is shown in the form of a mummiform royal figure wearing the nemes headdress, faithfully reproducing the celebrated gold-and-inlay originals that held the young pharaoh's viscera. Flanking the coffinette on either side are two vertical hieroglyphic cartouches: one bearing Tutankhamun's nomen or birth name, meaning 'Living image of Amun', and the other his prenomen Nebkheperure, translating as 'Lord of the Forms of Re'. The denomination legend 1/2 CROWN appears in Latin characters within the composition. The surrounding field is enriched with additional hieroglyphic ornament consistent with the overall Egyptological theme of the series.
