Obverse description The Gibraltar Government Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting the quartered royal arms of the United Kingdom supported by a crowned lion dexter and a chained unicorn sinister, surmounted by the Imperial State Crown, with the Gibraltar civic shield displayed on a compartment below. The Gibraltar motto scroll bearing 'DIEU DEFEND LE DROIT' appears on the coat of arms itself. The circular legend 'ELIZABETH II · D · G · REGINA · GIBRALTAR · 2021' runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '· HALF CROWN ·' is inscribed along the lower periphery. Reverse description A black-and-white photographic portrait of Diana, Princess of Wales, is centrally depicted in a three-quarter facing pose, framed within an oval vignette set against a darkened field. The portrait is encircled by an ornate wreath of raised floral sprays, with five-petalled blossoms and trailing stems rendered in high relief on both sides. A heraldic crown surmounts the composition at the top of the field. A scrolled ribbon banner above the portrait bears the legend 'DIEU DEFEND LE DROIT', while a second scroll below carries the commemorative inscription 'THE PEOPLE'S PRINCESS'.
